*53. What dost thou believe concerning the Holy Ghost?

First, that he is true and co-eternal God with the Father and the Son (Acts 5;3, 4); secondly, that he is also given me (Acts 2;38), to make me by a true faith a partaker Christ and all his benefits (1 Cor. 12;3); that he may comfort me, and abide with me forever (John 14;16).

Acts 5;3, 4.—Why hath Satan filled thy heart to lie unto the Holy Ghost.........thou hast not lied unto men, but unto God.—1 Cor. 3;16.—Heb. 9;14.

Acts 2;38.—Repent, and be baptized every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.—Acts 5;32.—1 Thess. 4;8.—2 Cor. 1;22.
