OUR SOVERAINE LORD, withadvifeof his three Eftaites, conveened in dlis prefent Par- liament , for die greater certaintie of his Hienes Checker, and gude ordour to be keeped therein, qubiiis throw gude reckning , and compt may be maid of his Hienefle rentes in dew time : Stamtisand ordainis diat his ordinar Checker , fall begin zeirlie in time cumniing , upon die firft day of Julij , and fall end upon dielaftdayof^/f^/?. Anddiat alfweillthe perfqns, qulia fall be nominate and conftitute Auditoures of the Checker, as all that audit to make compt therein, be dewlie warned be Precepts, to compeir thereat , ilkperfon, under the paine of 40. punds. And in-cafe of dieir abfence , at the dayes appoynted ; That they be un-lawed in the faid fumme, and letters of horning or poynding to bee direft againft them , for payment dieirof. And at all time, fra the firft day of the faid Checker, quhill die end diereof, diatthecomptares, that audit to give compt therein , in-cafe of dieir difobedience of the precept of the Checker , be charged of new , at die mercat- croce of Edinburgh. And in-cafe of their difobedience of die fame charge, to bedenunced rebelles, and put to the home, atthefamemercat-croceof^/^rg/^. Alfwa it is ftatute and ordained, that all heritable Chal- merlaines and compters , be charged to finde fovertie , to the fame effec"t. 6 6. Hieland-men and Borderers , may befummonedat the mercat-croce of the Burgh. ITEM, That all warnings and executiones, in the Kings caufes to be maidagainft Ilef-men, Hieland- men , or Borderers in broken Countries , ubi nonpatet tutus acceffus , be maid at the mercat-croce of the head Burrowes of die nixt Schires , in the Law-land. 6 j. The Comptroller fuld an fiver for all Chalmer lanes. ITEM, It is ftatute and ordained, that the Comptroller in time cumming , charge him in his compt, with the haill rent of his Hienefle propertie, and be anfwerable for the haill charges of the Chalmerlaines and receivers removeable : Becaufe they ar of the Comptrollers awin making : And for uthers that lies their of- fices heritable , that the Comptroller fchaw his diligence againft them , before the making of his compt , qululk fall alwayes end , before the firft day of September zeirlie. And declaris that his Majefties propertie, evininftant, as it is prefendie , fall finde, fufteine his houfe , according to the adviie given be the Checker in Auguft ,1586. And diat qulia ever lies the intromiffion and receipt of the rents of the faid propertie, audit andmonfurnifh, die expenfesofhis houfe in reddie money: that his furniihing may be als gude cheape, as onie uthers.
