[2] Sir Nicholas, purchased the manor of Manchester 1596, lord mayor of London 1599; d. 10 Dec. 1612, aged 85, havingm. 1st, Margaret, dau. of Hugh Whitbroke, of Bridgnorth, Salop, gent, and had 2 sons, (1) Rowland, of Hough End, whose son Edward was created a Baronet 20 July, 1640, which became extinct on the death of his son Sir Edward in 1665.
