Among other noteworthy translations of The Raven into German may be mentioned one by Spielhagen, the well-known novelist, and yet another by Adolf Strodtmann. Strodtmann, who appears to have accepted Poe's Philosophy of Composition as a statement of facts, has translated that essay as an appendix to Der Rabe.
