Captain Comer's specimens; Captain John Murray, Scotland, who has given me photographs of Sadlermiut; Professor, Dr. H. U. Sverdrup, Bergen, who has lent me harpoon heads from East Siberia for study. Nor must I forget my Greenland and Eskimo friends who helped me in the work over there, first and foremost our Greenland interpreter Jacob Olsen, and the traders who gave me shelter and assistance during the work, particularly Captain G. Cleveland in Repulse Bay and Lieutenant G. Hérodier at Ponds Inlet.

The photographs of the specimens are the work of the National Museum's photographer, S. Bengtsson. The translation is due to Mr. W. E. Calvert.
