And now his livid lips the bugle blew;
Thro' every den the piercing discord flew;
The fiends all answer'd in one hideous yell,
And in a fearful trance Serena fell.
Hence from the lovely nymph her senses fled,
Till thro' the parted curtains of her bed,
The amorous sun, who now began to rise,
Kist, with a sportive beam, her opening eyes.
