On the morning of April 16, 1973, the President met with John Dean during which meeting there was discussion of (a) what the President would say publicly the next day about Watergate, (b) what Dean would testify to concerning any discussions Dean had had with the President (including
Dean's discussion with the President on March 21 about
Hunt‘s demand), and (c) the payment to Hunt.
