The Community Center Movement
The Government of the United States has asked that every community in America, in town and countryside, organize itself into a "little democracy," to the end that we may more quickly achieve that world-wide democracy which is our ideal, and in defense of which we have pledged to fight with all the resources at our command. The Council of National Defense and the United States Bureau of Education have coöperated in a campaign in the interest of organizing a "Community Council" in every school district, in every state in the Union, and the Woman's Committee of the Council of National Defense has put forth its best efforts in support of the plan.
