Burmese language.
Tue Burmese Language is written from left to right, and admits of no division between words. The Alphabet consists, correctly speaking, of Forty-four Letters; viz., thirty-four Consonants ဗျည်ံး byeenး, and ten Vowels သရ thără.
The Vowels are,
အ ă. အာ a. ဣ ie. ဤ ēē. ဥ or ဥိ ŏŏ. ဦ ōō. ဧ é. အဲ ey. ဩ or ဩော ăŭ. ဪ āū.
The Consonants are,
က kă. | စ tsă. | ဋ ṭă. | တ tă. | ပ pă. | ယ yă. |
ခ khă. | ဆ tshă. | ဌ hṭă. | ထ htă. | ဖ hpă. | ရ ră. |
ဂ gă. | ဇ dză. | ဍ ḍă. | ဒ dă. | ဗ bă. | လ lă. |
ဃ ghă. | ဈ dzhă. | ဎ ḍhă. | ဓ dhă. | ဘ bhă. | ဝ wă. |
င gnă. | ည gnyă. | ဏ ṇă. | န nă. | မ mă. | သ thă. |
ဟ hă. | ဠ llă. | အ ă. | အံ ăn. |
These are the most usual forms of the letters now in use, but some scarce variations that occasionally occur will be found below.
