this is not architecture. Architecture only exists when there is a poetic emotion. Architecture is a plastic thing. I mean by "plastic" what is seen and measured by the eyes. Obviously, if the roof were to fall in, if the central heating did not work, if the walls cracked, the joys of architecture would be greatly diminished; the same thing might be said of a gentleman who listened to a symphony sitting on a pin-cushion or in a bad draught.
