Monsieur le Ministre,

I have the honour to acknowledge the receipt of your Note No. 41/12/40 of the 22nd ultimo in which you state that, in accordance with instructions from His Britannic Majesty's Principal Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs, you notify this Ministry of the desire of His Majesty The King of Great Britain, Ireland and the British Dominions beyond the Seas, Emperor of India, that the Treaty of Commerce and Navigation signed at Bangkok on November 23rd, 1937 should extend to Burma in accordance with the provisions of Article 23 thereof.

In taking note of your communication, I have the honour to state that in accordance with the terms of Article 23 of the Treaty of Commerce and Navigation above referred to, the said Treaty shall be extended to Burma as from the date of your Note under acknowledgment.

I avail myself of this opportunity, Monsieur le Ministre, to renew to Your Excellency the assurance of my highest consideration.
