prior to the date of the patent, either by the person originally entitled to the land or by his heirs or legal representatives, or by virtue of any process, or suit at law, or judgment of court against a person entitled to receive his patent as aforesaid.

Thirty thousand dollars appropriated, to be reserved out of the fund for making roads in the state of Ohio by the act of April 30, 1802, ch. 40, sec. 7.

1802, ch. 40.Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That in addition to the unexpended balance of the sum heretofore appropriated for laying out and making a road from Cumberland in the state of Maryland to the state of Ohio, the sum of thirty thousand dollars be, and the same is hereby appropriated, to be paid out of any money in the treasury not otherwise appropriated, and to be expended, under the direction of the President of the United States, in making said road between Cumberland in the state of Maryland and Brownsville in the state of Pennsylvania, commencing at Cumberland; which sum of thirty thousand dollars shall be paid out of the fund reserved for laying out and making roads to the state of Ohio, by virtue of the seventh section of an act passed on the thirtieth day of April, one thousand eight hundred and two, entituled “An act to enable the people of the eastern division of the territory northwest of the river Ohio, to form a constitution and state government and for the admission of such state into the Union on an equal footing with the original states, and for other purposes.”

Chap. LXXIX.—An Act for the relief of the citizens of Venezuela.
Appropriation of fifty thousand dollars.Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That the President of the United States be, and he is hereby authorized to cause to be purchased such provisions as he shall deem advisable, and to tender the same in the name of the government of the United States to that of Venezuela for the relief of the citizens who have suffered by the late earthquake.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That a sum not exceeding fifty thousand dollars be, and the same is hereby appropriated, to be paid out of any monies in the treasury not otherwise appropriated, to carry into operation this act.
