Hayford, late of Company H, Sixth Vermont Infantry, and to insert in lieu thereof the words, "Absent without leave from December thirteenth, eighteen hundred and sixty-three, to February eighth, eighteen hundred and sixty-four, when he enlisted under the name of John Brice in Company L, Second Connecticut Heavy Artillery, and served faithfully in that organization until mustered out, August eighteenth, eighteen grvviw- t hundred and sixty-five: Provided, That no bounty, pay, or emoluments °’“’·° °‘ shall become due or payable by virtue of the passage of this act."
