And whereas, it apppars that the public good will be promoted by addipg to the Tahoe ational Forest certam lands within the States of C rfornia and Nevada, which are in art covered with timber; Now, therefore, I, Theodore Roosevelt, President of the United $g,“3g°“°S3gfl”¤°d· States of America, by vir·tue of the plower in me vested by the Act ofp` Congress, approved une fourth, eig teen hundred and nmety-seven, entitled, “Act Making appropriations for sundry civil expenses of the Government for the fiscal year ending Jrme thirtieth, eighteen hundred and ninety-eight, and for other p ," do proclaim that the Tahoe Nationa Forest is hereby enlarged and that 1bS boimdaries are as shown on the diagram forming a part hereof. · The withdrawal made by this proclamation shall, as to all lands ,,,§‘,';'d_ "‘g“°’ "°* which are at this date legally appropriated under the public land laws or reserved for any public purpose, be subypct to, and shall not interfere with or defeat eglal rights under suc appropriation, nor prevent the use for such pu licnpurpose of lands so reserved, so long _ as such arypropriation is lega y maintained, or such reservation remains in orce. This proclamation shall not prevent the settlement and entry of ¢§}'f°3{“;f“,P;_““ any lands heretofore opened to settlement and entry under the Act of Congress approved June eleventh, nineteen hundred and six, ' entitled, "An Act to provide for the entry of Agricultural lands within forest reserves."
