WHEREAS it a pears that the public good will be promoted by eliminating from the Hayden National Forest certain ands within the State of Wyomingir $r•i¤•11mi¤£h¤¤- Now, therefore, I, illiam H. Taft, President of the United States ° '3°’ p' of America, by virtue of the power in me vested by the Act of Congress , approved June fourth, eighteen hundred and ninety-seven, entitled "£1 Act Making appropriations for sundgy civil expenses of the Government for the fiscal year ending une thirtreth, eighteen hundred and ninety-eight, and for other pu;iposes," do proclaim that the boundaries o the Hayden Nation Forest are hereby changed and that they are now as shown on the diagram forming a part hereof. ` $g{¤¤3¤;¤¢¤f¤;33¤¤d¤· This proclamation shall not prevent the settlement and entry of ' ’p“ any lands heretofore opened to settlement and entry under the Act of Congress approved June eleventh, nineteen hundred and six, entitled "An Act To provide for the ·entry of Agricultural lands within forest reserves." mfgjmdgoglésjym *° The lands herebi eliminated from the Hayden National Forest · which are not em raced in withdrawals for administrative sites for use in the management of the Forest, or in any other reservation or appropriation, shall be restored to the public domain and become subject to settlement under the general provisions of the homestead ' laws on such date and after such notice by publication as the Secretary of the Interior may prescribe, but shall not become sub`ect to entry, filin , selection, or other form of appropriation until the expiration of tgirt days from the date so fixe , except that on the same date as the lands eliminated become subject to settlement, the State of m£§<is4;¤rk¤§;)y school Wyoming may, if the lands eliminated 8.1*6 subject to such selection, DS, • . • • • • . select as indemnity in the satisfaction of its common school grant, not to exceed two sections of land in each entire township restored, or one section in each fractional portion of a township where the restored area thereof exceeds five thousand (5,000) acres, and no person will be permitted to acquire or exercise any right whatever under any sett ement or occupancy beiun prior to such date, and all such settlement or occupation is here y forbidden. ·¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤<i- It is not intended by this proclamation to release any land from reservation except the areas indicated on the diagram as eliminated nor to reserve any land not heretofore embraced in a National Forest. ‘ IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have herermto set my hand and caused the seal of the United States to be affixed.
