WHEREAS, by virtue of the authority and direction contained in w§·“i$°£i°° °’ mis"' the Act of Congress a proved March fourth, nineteen hundred and v{,‘}?§}?{§w_ thirteen (37 Stat., 847ii entitled "An Act making appropriations for PM v1>· 1812, 1863- the Department of Agriculture for the nscal year ending June thirtieth, nineteen hundred and four·teen," the Department of Agriculture has prepared, has finally adopted, and has caused to be engrossed and submitted to the President of the United States for approval, the following regulations amending regulations two and seven of the regulations for the protection 0 migratory birds approved and promulgated on August 21, 1916: REGULATION 2.-—-CLOSED SEASON AT NIGHT. 01¤¤•d smon at · uVi1tl: 39, p. 1794, Reigulation 2 is amended so as to read as follows: °'“°°d°°· A aily closed season on all migratory game and insectivorous birds shall extend from sunset to half an hour before sunrise. BEGULATION 7.--cI.0sm> SEASONS IN z0N1¤ NO; 1 Ngk;¤•d¤•¤¤¤¤i¤Z¤¤• Vol. 39, p. 1794, Regulation 7, subtitle "Waterfowl, Coots, and Gallinules," is “°°”d°°· amended so m to read as follows: Wauqfowl, coat, and all·imdcs.—The closed seasons on waterfowl, w°*"°"*·°*°· coot, and gallinules shall be sm follows: . In Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Massachusetts, New York (except Long Island), Pennsylvania, Ohio, West Virginia, Kentucky, Indiana, Michigan, Wisconsin, Illinois, Missouri, Iowa, Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota, Nebraska, Kansas, Colorado, Wyoming, Montana, Idaho, Nevada, aud that portion of the States of Oregon and Washington lying east of the summit of the Cascade Mountains the close season shall be between January 1 and September 15 next following; and In Rhode Island, Connecticut, that rtion New York known as Long Island, New Jersey, Utah, and that portion of the States of Oregon and Washington lyinglwest of the summit of the Cascade Mountains the close season s all be between January 16 and September 30 next following.
