(h) The place of each member_ of the National Board rmavoidably detained from attending one or more of its SSSIQHB may be filled by a substitute to be named by such member as his regular substitute. In establishments where the union shop exists the nme shall continue and the union standards as to wagm, hours of labor and other conditions of employment shall be maintained. 2. In establishments where union and non-union men and women now work together, and the employer meets only with employees or resentatives engaged in_ said establishments, the continuance of such conditionrghall not be deemed a grievance. This declaration, however, is not intended in any manner to deny the right, or discourage the practice of the formation of labor unions, or the joining of the same by the workers in said establishments, as guaranteed in the last paragraph, nor to tgrevent the War Labor Board from urging, or any umpire from granting, under e machinery herein provided, improvement of their situation in the matter gf wages, hours of labor, or other conditions, as shall be found desirable from time time. 3. Established safeguards and regulations for the rotection of the health and safety of workers shall not be relaxed. p WOMEN IN IND USTR Y · If it shall become necessary to employ women on work ordinarily performed by men, they must be allowed equal pay for equal work and must not be allotted tasks disproportionate to their strength.
