"An officer having no dependent, receiving the base pay of the paliiglil with °° d°` first or second period shall receive the allowance for two rooms, such an officer receiving the base pay of the third or fourth period shall receive the allowance for three rooms, and such an officer receiving the base pay of the fifth or sixth period shall receive the allowance for four rooms. " No rental allowance shall accrue to an officer, having no depend· ,,u$$°g°§c,§°!{§°§°¤§$°§it1 ents, while he is on field or sea duty, nor while an officer with or °'“°· without dependents is assigned as uarters at his permanent station the number of rooms provided by(law for an officer of his rank or a less number of rooms in any particular case wherein, in the judgment of competent superior authority of the service concerned, a less number of rooms would be adequate for the occupancy of the officer and his dependents. That section 10 of said Act be, and the same is hereby, amid? amended by adding thereto the following paragraphs: ,dY°“2·“°3°·“m°”d' " The retainer pray of all men who were on that day transferred fcxgejgémgggfjgggcég members of the leet Naval Reserve or the Fleet Marine Corps meme. Reserve shall be computed on the rates of pay authorized for enlisted men of the naval service by the Act approved June 10, 1922: Provided, That the retainer pay of such reservists shall be not less §§°g§"§§_ than that to which the were entitled on June 30, 1922, under decisions of the Comptroller of the Treasury in force on that date.
