455 sistence during hospitalization and until furnished transportation to their homes, and transportation when fit for travel to their homes of members of the Reserve Officers' Training Corps who suffer per- sona l injury in line of duty while en route t o or from and whi le at camps of instruction under the provisions of section 47a of the National Defense Act approved June 3, 1916, as amended (U . S. C ., title 10, sec . 441) ; and for the cost of preparation and transportation to their homes and burial expenses of the remains of members of the Reserve Officers' Training Corps who die while attending camps of instruction as provided in section 4 of the Act approved June 3, 1924 (U. S. C., title 10, sec. 455) ; for mileage, reimbursement of traveling expenses, or per diem allowance in lieu thereof as author- ized by law, for officers and warrant officers of the Regular Army ord ered to duty with , reliev ed from duty wit h, or tra veling o n duty in connecti on with R eserve O fficers' Trainin g Corps u nits at educa- tional institutions and Reserve Officers' Training Corps training camps ; for transportation of dependents, baggage, and household effects, including packing and crating, of officers and warrant officers ordered to duty with, and relieved from duty with, Reserve Officers' Training Corps units at educational institutions ; for transportation of enliste d men of the Regular Army orde red to duty with, and rel ieved fr om duty w ith, Res erve Off icers' T raining C orps uni ts and to duty with Reserve Officers' Training Corps training camps and return to stations ; and for transportation of dependents, baggage, and household effects, including packing and crating, of enlisted men ordered to duty with, and relieved from duty with, Reserve Officers' Training Corps units, as authorized by law ; and for the cost of maintenance, repair, and operation of passenger-carrying vehicles, $4,000,000, of which $547,849 shall be available immediate)

vided, That uniforms and other equipment or material issue to the Reserve Officers' Training Corps in accordance with law shall be furnished from surplus or reserve stocks of the War Department without payment from this appropriation, except for actual expense incurred in the manufacture or issue : Provided further, That in no case shall the amount paid from this appropriation for uniforms, equipment, or material furnished to the Reserve Officers' Training Corps from stocks under the control of the War Department be in excess of the price current at the time the issue is made : Provided further, That none of the funds appropriated in this Act shall be used for the organization or maintenance of an additional number of mounted, motor tr ansport, or tank units i n the Res erve Off icers' Training Corps in excess of the number in existence on January 1, 1928 : Provided further, That none of the funds appropriated else- where in this Act, except for printing and binding and pay and allowances of officers and enlisted men of the Regular Army, shall be use d for ex penses in connect ion with the Res erve Offi cers' Tr aining Corps .
