45 approval of the President, is authorized to enter into an agreement with the French Republic providing for the postponement of the d ate of the maturity of the pri ncipal of its indebt edness in respect of its purchase of surplus war supplies, until the Mellon-Berenger agreement has been approved or disapproved by the Congress, but in no event shall such date be postponed beyond May 1, 1930 .
