Post office. New York (New York) post office : The Act of March 4, 1929 Vol. 45,p .1660. (45 Stat., p . 1660), authorizing and appropriating $1,500,000 for the acquisition of a site for an annex to the New York, New York, post of fice, is h ereby amen ded to perm it the Sec retary of the Treasu ry to purchase additional land for the enlargement of the post office, New York, New York, being the remainder of the blocks bounded by Eighth and Ninth Avenues and West Thirty-first and West Thirty- th ird Street s, not now owned by t he United States, su bject, how ever, to the right of Th e Pen nsylv ania Tunnel and Termi nal R ailroa d Company, its successors and assigns to retain, occupy, and use, the subsurface of the above-described property for its railroad and st ation purp oses, said rights to be specifi cally defi ned in the con- tract of conveyances of the property, under such terms and condi- tions as are satisfactory to the Secretary of the Treasury, at a total cost not to exceed $2,500,000 .
Annex building. For the construction of an annex building, including incidental changes in the present building and its fixed equipment, under an estimated total cost of $7,000,000 .

New York (New York) post office and other Government offices, Vol. 45, p . 1660 . and United States courthouse : In lieu of th e alternat e provisio ns Post, p . 159 8. co ntained in th e Act a pproved March 4, 1929 , for t he acqu isition of a site to accommoda te either t he post of fice, Fede ral courts , and so forth, or a site for a building to accommodate the Federal courts, the Secretary of the Treasury is hereby authorized, after the receipt by him of an acceptable offer by the city of New York for the purchase of the courthouse and post-office property at Park Row a nd Bro adway, to acqu ire by purchas e, cond emnatio n, or o therwis e th e block bound ed by B arclay, Vesey, and Ch urch St reets a nd West Broadway, for a site for a building for post office and other Govern- ment offices, at a total estimated limit of cost for said site of not to exceed $5,000,000, and a site for a building for the accommoda- tion of the Federal courts at a total estimated limit of cost for said site of not to exceed $2,450,000, and to procure by contract pre- l iminary sk etches of said court house buil ding devel oped suffi ciently for use as a basis for estimates, the cost of said sketches to be paid from appropriation available for the purpose .
