Twas god that gave our pious one
tis God that takes away
twas God that sent his summons down
to taste Eternal day

the mournful Bell Begins to tole
to trace her to the ground
Dear Jesus doth possess her soul
though we have felt the wound

Come ye mourners now and see
the place of her abode
turn dust to dust and let it be
She sleepeth in the Lord

Dear Hutchinson is dead and gone
and left a memorial
and as a child that is newborn
she lov'd God's Holy soil

Now glory be unto the Lord
and blessed be his name
Come follow now his holy word
until you meet again

Compos'd by Jupiter Hammon
