Mr. Juwan Usang Ly

Mr. Juwan Usang Ly was born at Lysville, Nanhai Hsien, Kwangtung Province, in 1888. He was educated both at home and abroad, having been a scholar of Yu-hua Shu Yuan, a student at the New Youth School, Kwengchow Fu High School, and the Liang-Kwang Academy for the preparation of students to study abroad. He was the recipient of a partial Ching-hua scholarship and a Kwangtung Provincial scholarship; attended the College of the City of New York and was graduated with the degree of B. C. S. from the University of New York. He attended Columbia University, Haverford College, University of Pennsylvania, Massachusetts Agricultural College and George Washington University. After finishing his education he acted as Chinese Government Research Fellow at the Library of Congress, and later as assistant at the Dupont National Bank, Washington, D. C. From 1919 to 1922 he served as manager of the Industrial and Commercial Bank, Ltd., at Hongkong. During 1922 he acted as chief of division on commerce
