Waller

[edit]

Waller here is doubtless a typesetting error for wallet, in the older sense, as used on page 12 "he will fill his wallet with our clothes". Rich Farmbrough, 14:58 26 September 2023 (GMT)

Crowdle

[edit]

Crowdle has a few meanings, relating mainly to huddling together. The term also seems related to crowdy (thick porridge, with the consistency of a pudding), I wonder if crowdie was meant here. More research needed. Rich Farmbrough, 15:48 26 September 2023 (GMT)
