Changed the name to Billy and William, as Hans doesn't work in English. Billy works, as it is very childish compared to William and William has a Germanic resonance to it. To clarify Novalis's point which is addressed by the gendered articles, the neutral "das" was translated as little boy and the following masculine "der" as adult.

Wissenschaft

"Wissenschaft" is usually translated as science, but as in German it includes fields in the humanities like history, it seemed field of knowledge seemed more appropriate. (see also paragraphs 86 and 90)
