@Shenme: I think the period before the sentence beginning "It ably..." most likely exists in the original, but was printed faintly and did not reproduce in the scan. The gap clearly indicates that a period was intended. Maybe there's a case to be made for this level of accuracy in transcribing what appears, but in my view it would be better to add the period in. But if we don't, I think your approach of adding a gap is a perfectly acceptable approach. Thanks for the helpful edit summary. -Pete (talk) 19:17, 16 March 2020 (UTC)
