II A LETTER
I send you this daisy, whose petals enfoldThe love, that I hid in the star that she stole,When the daisy demanded a heart made of gold.
I send you this daisy aflame at the tipsOf her petals that blushed, when their virginal whiteWas stained into love by the touch of my lips.
I send you this daisy, for you will discover,That God when He fashioned His dust to a flowerMade a chalice to carry the love of a lover.
