TRAILING ARBUTUS.
Daintiest flower of Northern spring, When the sun shines and the robins sing Overhead in the pines; Like a star in the night-time Heralding the bright time, Your pink flower shines.
Clad in your dress of waxen green,Of fairest hue and of glossy sheen, You show your face; When the dead leaves are removed. All your sweetness then is proved, And lovely grace.
