THE RELAPSE.
Hope! thou sweet, yet faithless fair!Ne'er wake again thy smiles for me;For I am doom'd the slave of care,The daughter of Despondency.
I hail'd thee, like the op'ning morn,From gloomy night's dark phantoms free;—But thou hast left me more forlorn—The daughter of Despondency!
