— Our First Statue
Marion Vienna Churchill Dudley
OUR FIRST STATUE.
"
M
OLD thou a noble statue
Sculptor over the sea!
Sail in the strong ship westward
Bringing it home to me!"
Lifted in pride to our people
Stately and strong and still,
Stands it in mute assertion,—
"Grace of a woman's will."
