WINTER
Winter with its ice and snow,
When the rivers cannot flow,
When the sky is dull and gray,
How we wish for spring-time, gay.
When the rivers cannot flow,
When the sky is dull and gray,
How we wish for spring-time, gay.
Hills are slippery,
Boys are coasting,
Laughing, chaffing,
Roasting, boasting,
Down they come at
Full speed. Whew!
Walking, talking,
Skating, too!
Boys are coasting,
Laughing, chaffing,
Roasting, boasting,
Down they come at
Full speed. Whew!
Walking, talking,
Skating, too!
Though the air is cold,
And the sky is gray,
I am passing fond
Of a winter's day.
And the sky is gray,
I am passing fond
Of a winter's day.
January, 1914.
