THE HEAVENLY MANSIONS
Eye hath not seen those glittering towers,
Ear hath not heard those songs,
But endless praise and fadeless flowers
To that bright realm belong.
Ear hath not heard those songs,
But endless praise and fadeless flowers
To that bright realm belong.
There never a weary tear shall start
Of pain or grief or care;
There is my treasure and my heart
And all my hope is there.
Of pain or grief or care;
There is my treasure and my heart
And all my hope is there.
O mansion, grand, imposing pile
Of masonry and art,
Tower in thy pride a little while
But prison not a heart!
Of masonry and art,
Tower in thy pride a little while
But prison not a heart!
Let not earth's richest, happiest lot
Life's higher aims assuage,
And make the spirit treasure not
Its nobler heritage.
Life's higher aims assuage,
And make the spirit treasure not
Its nobler heritage.
