SONGS FROM THE DEEPS.
HAST thou heard the blue sea as it sings on the sand?
Dost thou know what it tells to the blossoming land?
Bloom on, gaily bloom for the night is at hand
When shadows shall compass the world.

Hast thou heard life's great sea as it sings to the heart?
Dost thou heed the refrain as its waves meet and part?
Laugh on, gaily laugh, but a moment, thou art,
Ere shadows shall compass the world.

Hast thou heard death's wide sea as it sings to the soul?
Canst thou catch the refrain as its swift billows roll?
Weep on, gently weep, but beyond is thy goal,
And light shall encompass the world.
