TO A BELOVED SISTER, ON HER BIRTH-DAY.

Accept, dear Catherine, of this simple lay,Which hails thy happy natal day; Oh! may thy years with pleasure's wreaths be crown'd,And each revolving hour in bliss fly round;May'st thou excel in every path of life,As daughter, sister, mother, friend, and wife;And when our latest sighs on earth are given,Oh! may we meet in perfect bliss in heaven.
