He left the wheat in the ear,
And the bearding barley—
Left the heifer and steer—
My love's away with Charlie!
Left the wheat and the barley—
  My love's not one to falter—
He sailed to-night with Charlie,
  Over the blue sea-water—
   Over the blue—
