Because your treasure is nearTo the touch of your hand,And fresh and flowing and clearYour deep well of delight,The place is bared to the skyWhere my treasure should stand,The rain of fountains is dry,That was sweet to my sight.
Because your day is ablazeWith the flowers that are blown,And glad for length of the waysThat are never to part, I watch and tremble for griefIn the shadow alone,And branch and blossom and leafBring the pain to my heart.
Because the word is so kindThat is breathed in your ear,And sweet the thoughts you unbind,Tn your rapture of peace,My words are laggard and late,With the thoughts that are dear,My thoughts that falter and waitFor their joy of release.
