HIS LITTLE SWEETHEART
Before the open casement cool, he sees his sweetheart standing: The late sunlight upon her hair; her small hands closely folded: A gazing straight adown the street, With great blue eyes so deep and sweet!      His little sweetheart!
She's vanished from the casement cool, and now he hears the patter Of her little, twinkling feet,—a moment more,—he's caught her! Then closely to his heart he holds His little daughter two years old:      His little sweetheart!
