BUILDERS
Through passion and pain and suffering,Great trials, deep troubles and stress,In years we gain a spiritual stronghold,That we may loose in one moment's weakness!
Great dams, 'gainst mighty waters are builded,Of strong concrete, iron girders and rock:Just one faulty place, and though gilded-It is no stronger than that one tiny spot!
And so-as we build this life's bulwark,With all that is unclean, from us shorn,If we leave one tiny weakness unguarded,We may fail, that, for which we were born!
