REAL PLAY
I had delved and searched and studied,Through life's broad and interesting way.Was over-joyed in my thirst for wisdom,Till I found-I had forgotten how to play!
I was shocked, and in deep disappointment,I began to see, what now is so plain;Real play, is one of life's best lessons,Which I feel, God meant we should retain.
I sought Youth, it's irresistible pleasure,It's rapturous interest, and it's joy,And I have learned, at my leisureThat play, in our life, is not a toy.
If we are chained, to one view or vision,With no rest nor play in our plan,We lose the force of our best inspiration,God gave, by hand of the child, to man.
