EPITAPH ONMr. RICHARD SMITH, Surgeon, of Chertsey.
The friend of all—embalm'd in Virtue's tears,Sinks to the grave, mature and full of years!A spirit mild, beneficent and true,With worthy Smith from this vain world withdrew.—Goodness survives, when Nature sinks to rest,And stamps her image on each feeling breast!Secure, oh Smith! tho' modest is thy fame,And soothing comfort shall attend thy name;For Hope attends the mem'ry of the just,And they shall rise in triumph from the dust!
