AUTUMN FLOWERS.
Pale autumn flowers! I love ye well,
Though a tale of sadness ye bring;
Yes, dearer to me are these autumn flowers
Than the first fair buds of spring.
Though a tale of sadness ye bring;
Yes, dearer to me are these autumn flowers
Than the first fair buds of spring.
I love ye! for ye are the last
That blooms 'neath a northern sky,—
The last that adorns the grave of one,
Who was early doomed to die.
That blooms 'neath a northern sky,—
The last that adorns the grave of one,
Who was early doomed to die.
