SONG. To Myra.

I.

THE happiest Mortals once were we,
I lov'd Myra, Myra me;
Each desirous of the Blessing,
Nothing wanting but Possessing;
I lov'd Myra, Myra me;
The happiest Mortals once were we.

II.

But since cruel Fates dissever,
Torn from Love, and torn for ever,
Tortures end me,
Death befriend me;
Of all Pains the greatest Pain
Is to love—and love in vain.
