(1811–1882)

Albert Salter (1811-1882) was a baker in Manhattan. He was the son of Abraham Salter (1789-1874) and Catherine Fischer (1789-1868). Albert married Mary Oldrin (1813-1849) and after her death he married her sister, Ann Seabury Oldrin (1827-1894), in 1851. He died in 1882 at age 70. Death of his second wife. "Salter. At her residence, No. 167 Lexington avenue, April 26, 1894, Ann Seabury Salter, widow of Albert Salter."
His death. "On Thursday morning, June 8, 1882, Albert Salter, of pneumonia, in the 73d year of his age. Relatives and friends of the family are respectfully invited to attend the funeral from his late residence, No. 229 East 81st street, on Saturday, 10th inst., at 2 o'clock P.M."
His father's will naming his siblings. "In the Name of God, Amen, are as follows, follows, that I, Abraham Salter of the Town of Middletown County, Richmond, State of New York being of sound and disposing mind and memory do make publish and declare this manner and form following to wit. … I give and bequeath to Charles Waterbury, only son of my daughter Sarah Lenoxson, deceased, the full and just sum of five hundred dollars … to my eight children Albert Salter, Ann Eliza Havens, Abraham Salter Jr., Catherine Rosendale, Margaret Simonson, John I. Salter, William Salter and Maria Fitch to be equally divided between them, share and share alike. …"
Death of his father. "On Saturday, September 12, at the residence of his daughter, Mrs. Anne E. Havens, Cedar Bridge, New Jersey, Abraham Salter, in the 86th year of his age."
Death of his mother. "On Tuesday, January 21, Catherine, wife of Abraham Salter, Esq., in the 79th year of her age. The relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral, from the residence of her son, Albert Salter, 416 Third avenue, the (Friday) afternoon, at one o'clock."
