Provincial Executive Committees Act, 1963

To amend the Republic of South Africa Constitution Act, 1961.

(Assented to 21st June, 1963.)
Be it enacted by the State President, the Senate and the House of Assembly of the Republic of South Africa, as follows:―
1. Section seventy-four of the Republic of South Africa Constitution Act, 1961 (hereinafter referred to as the principal Act), is hereby amended by the insertion after the word “council” of the words “other than members who are also members of the executive committee”.
2. Section seventy-six of the principal Act is hereby amended―
(a) | by the deletion in sub-section (3) of the words “the provincial council, with the approval of”; and | ||||
(b) | by the addition to that sub-section of the following paragraph, the existing sub-section becoming paragraph (a)―

3. This Act shall be called the Provincial Executive Committees Act, 1963, and shall come into operation on a date to be fixed by the State President by proclamation in the Gazette.
