This volume covers the start of the First World War, so provides an interesting contrast between the comfortable pre-war attitudes of the early issues, and the jingoism of the later ones.

Supplements

[edit]

These 'bonus' issues collected together some illustrations from past issues of Punch on a particular theme - in the case of the three Supplements released in this Volume, they were cartoons related to Germany/Prussia and Turkey, the opponents of the Allies in the war.
