026:002 | These are the signs of the Scripture of clarity. | Tilka ayatu alkitabi almubeeni |
026:003 | Perhaps you are grieving yourself that they do not become believers. | LaAAallaka bakhiAAun nafsaka alla yakoonoo mu/mineena |
026:004 | If We wish, We could send down for them from the heavens a sign, to which they would bend their necks in humility. | In nasha/ nunazzil AAalayhim mina alssama-i ayatan fathallat aAAnaquhum laha khadiAAeena |
026:005 | And not a reminder comes to them from the Almighty, except that they turn away from it. | Wama ya/teehim min thikrin mina alrrahmani muhdathin illa kanoo AAanhu muAArideena |
026:006 | They have denied, thus the news will come to them of what they used to ridicule. | Faqad kaththaboo fasaya/teehim anbao ma kanoo bihi yastahzi-oona |
026:007 | Did they not look to the Earth, how many plants have We raised in it, from each a good pair. | Awa lam yaraw ila al-ardi kam anbatna feeha min kulli zawjin kareemin |
026:008 | In that is a sign, but most of them are not believers. | Inna fee thalika laayatan wama kana aktharuhum mu/mineena |
026:009 | And your Lord is the Noble, the Merciful. | Wa-inna rabbaka lahuwa alAAazeezu alrraheemu |

[edit]026:010 | And when your Lord called Moses: "Go to the people who are wicked." | Wa-ith nada rabbuka moosa ani i/ti alqawma alththalimeena |
026:011 | "The people of Pharaoh. Will they not be righteous?" | Qawma firAAawna ala yattaqoona |
026:012 | He said: "My Lord, I fear that they would deny me." | Qala rabbi innee akhafu an yukaththibooni |
026:013 | "And my chest would become tight, and my tongue would not be able to express; so send for Aaron." | Wayadeequ sadree wala yantaliqu lisanee faarsil ila haroona |
026:014 | "And they have charges of a crime against me, so I fear they will kill me." | Walahum AAalayya thanbun faakhafu an yaqtulooni |
026:015 | He said: "It will not be. Go both of you with Our signs. I am with you listening." | Qala kalla faithhaba bi-ayatina inna maAAakum mustamiAAoona |
026:016 | "So both of you go to Pharaoh and Say: "We are messengers of the Lord of the worlds" | Fa/tiya firAAawna faqoola inna rasoolu rabbi alAAalameena |
026:017 | "So send with us the Children of Israel"" | An arsil maAAana banee isra-eela |
026:018 | He said: "Did we not raise you amongst us as a new born, and you stayed with us for many of your years?" | Qala alam nurabbika feena waleedan walabithta feena min AAumurika sineena |
026:019 | "And you did what deed you did, and you are of the rejecters." | WafaAAalta faAAlataka allatee faAAalta waanta mina alkafireena |
026:020 | He said: "I did it, and I was of those misguided." | Qala faAAaltuha ithan waana mina alddalleena |
026:021 | "So I ran away from you all when I feared you. So my Lord granted me judgment, and made me of the messengers." | Fafarartu minkum lamma khiftukum fawahaba lee rabbee hukman wajaAAalanee mina almursaleena |
026:022 | "And that was a favour that you held against me, so you could continue to enslave the Children of Israel." | Watilka niAAmatun tamunnuha AAalayya an AAabbadta banee isra-eela |
026:023 | Pharaoh said: "And what is the Lord of the worlds?" | Qala firAAawnu wama rabbu alAAalameena |
026:024 | He said: "The Lord of the heavens and the Earth and all that is between them, if you are aware." | Qala rabbu alssamawati waal-ardi wama baynahuma in kuntum mooqineena |
026:025 | He said to those around him: "Do you hear that?" | Qala liman hawlahu ala tastamiAAoona |
026:026 | He said: "Your Lord and the Lord of your forefathers!" | Qala rabbukum warabbu aba-ikumu al-awwaleena |
026:027 | He said: "This messenger of yours who has been sent to you is mad!" | Qala inna rasoolakumu allathee orsila ilaykum lamajnoonun |
026:028 | He said: "The Lord of the east and the west, and what is between them, if you understand." | Qala rabbu almashriqi waalmaghribi wama baynahuma in kuntum taAAqiloona |
026:029 | He said: "If you take a god other than me, then I will put you among the prisoners." | Qala la-ini ittakhathta ilahan ghayree laajAAalannaka mina almasjooneena |
026:030 | He said: "What if I brought you proof?" | Qala awa law ji/tuka bishay-in mubeenin |
026:031 | He said: "Then bring it forth if you are of the truthful ones." | Qala fa/ti bihi in kunta mina alssadiqeena |
026:032 | So he cast his staff, then it manifested into a serpent. | Faalqa AAasahu fa-itha hiya thuAAbanun mubeenun |
026:033 | And he drew out his hand, then it became white to the onlookers. | WanazaAAa yadahu fa-itha hiya baydao lilnnathireena |

[edit]026:034 | He said to the commanders around him: "This is a knowledgeable magician." | Qala lilmala-i hawlahu inna hatha lasahirun AAaleemun |
026:035 | "He wants to bring you out of your land with his magic. So what will you decide?" | Yureedu an yukhrijakum min ardikum bisihrihi famatha ta/muroona |
026:036 | They said: "Delay him and his brother, and send people in the cities to gather." | Qaloo arjih waakhahu waibAAath fee almada-ini hashireena |
026:037 | "They will come to you with every knowledgeable magician." | Ya/tooka bikulli sahharin AAaleemin |
026:038 | So the magicians were gathered to an appointed day. | FajumiAAa alssaharatu limeeqati yawmin maAAloomin |
026:039 | And it was said to the people: "Will you also gather?" | Waqeela lilnnasi hal antum mujtamiAAoona |
026:040 | "Perhaps we can follow the magicians if they are the winners." | LaAAallana nattabiAAu alssaharata in kanoo humu alghalibeena |
026:041 | So when the magicians came, they said to Pharaoh: "We should be rewarded if we are the winners." | Falamma jaa alssaharatu qaloo lifirAAawna a-inna lana laajran in kunna nahnu alghalibeena |
026:042 | He said: "Yes, and you shall also be near to me." | Qala naAAam wa-innakum ithan lamina almuqarrabeena |
026:043 | Moses said to them: "Cast down what it is you will cast." | Qala lahum moosa alqoo ma antum mulqoona |
026:044 | So they cast down their ropes and staffs and they said: "By the might of Pharaoh, we will be the winners." | Faalqaw hibalahum waAAisiyyahum waqaloo biAAizzati firAAawna inna lanahnu alghaliboona |
026:045 | So Moses cast down his staff, then it was eating-up all that they showed! | Faalqa moosa AAasahu fa-itha hiya talqafu ma ya/fikoona |
026:046 | So the magicians went down prostrating. | Faolqiya alssaharatu sajideena |
026:047 | They said: "We believe in the lord of the worlds!" | Qaloo amanna birabbi alAAalameena |
026:048 | "The Lord of Moses and Aaron." | Rabbi moosa waharoona |
026:049 | He said: "Have you believed to him before I permitted you? He is surely your great one who has taught you magic. So you shall come to know. I will cut-off your hands and feet from alternate sides, and I will crucify you all." | Qala amantum lahu qabla an athana lakum innahu lakabeerukumu allathee AAallamakumu alssihra falasawfa taAAlamoona laoqattiAAanna aydiyakum waarjulakum min khilafin walaosallibannakum ajmaAAeena |
026:050 | They said: "There is no worry, for we are all returning to our Lord." | Qaloo la dayra inna ila rabbina munqaliboona |
026:051 | "We hope that our Lord will forgive us our sins, as we are the first to believe." | Inna natmaAAu an yaghfira lana rabbuna khatayana an kunna awwala almu/mineena |
026:052 | And We inspired Moses: "Take away My servants, for you will be followed." | Waawhayna ila moosa an asri biAAibadee innakum muttabaAAoona |

[edit]026:053 | So Pharaoh sent gatherers to the cities. | Faarsala firAAawnu fee almada-ini hashireena |
026:054 | "These are but a small band." | Inna haola-i lashirthimatun qaleeloona |
026:055 | "And they have done what has enraged us." | Wa-innahum lana lagha-ithoona |
026:056 | "And We are all gathered and forewarned." | Wa-inna lajameeAAun hathiroona |
026:057 | So, We evicted them out of gardens and springs. | Faakhrajnahum min jannatin waAAuyoonin |
026:058 | And treasures and an honourable dwelling. | Wakunoozin wamaqamin kareemin |
026:059 | As such, We gave it to the Children of Israel. | Kathalika waawrathnaha banee isra-eela |
026:060 | So they were pursued at sunrise. | FaatbaAAoohum mushriqeena |
026:061 | But when the two groups saw each other, the companions of Moses said: "We are caught!" | Falamma taraa aljamAAani qala as-habu moosa inna lamudrakoona |
026:062 | He said: "No, my Lord is with me and He will guide me." | Qala kalla inna maAAiya rabbee sayahdeeni |
026:063 | So We inspired to Moses: "Strike the sea with your staff." So it split into two, each side like a great mountain. | Faawhayna ila moosa ani idrib biAAasaka albahra fainfalaqa fakana kullu firqin kaalttawdi alAAatheemi |
026:064 | And We then brought them to the other side. | Waazlafna thamma al-akhareena |
026:065 | And We saved Moses and all those with him. | Waanjayna moosa waman maAAahu ajmaAAeena |
026:066 | Then We drowned the others. | Thumma aghraqna al-akhareena |
026:067 | In that is a sign, but most of them are not believers. | Inna fee thalika laayatan wama kana aktharuhum mu/mineena |
026:068 | And your Lord is the Noble, the Merciful. | Wa-inna rabbaka lahuwa alAAazeezu alrraheemu |
026:069 | And recite to them the news of Abraham. | Waotlu AAalayhim nabaa ibraheema |

[edit]026:070 | When he said to his father and his people: "What do you worship?" | Ith qala li-abeehi waqawmihi ma taAAbudoona |
026:071 | They said: "We worship statues, thus we remain devoted to them." | Qaloo naAAbudu asnaman fanathallu laha AAakifeena |
026:072 | He said: "Do they hear you when you pray to them?" | Qala hal yasmaAAoonakum ith tadAAoona |
026:073 | "Or do they benefit you or harm you?" | Aw yanfaAAoonakum aw yadurroona |
026:074 | They said: "No, but we found our fathers doing the same." | Qaloo bal wajadna abaana kathalika yafAAaloona |
026:075 | He said: "Do you see that which you have been worshipping." | Qala afaraaytum ma kuntum taAAbudoona |
026:076 | "You and your fathers of old." | Antum waabaokumu al-aqdamoona |
026:077 | "They are enemies to me, except for the Lord of the worlds." | Fa-innahum AAaduwwun lee illa rabba alAAalameena |
026:078 | "The One who created me, He will guide me." | Allathee khalaqanee fahuwa yahdeeni |
026:079 | "And He is the One who feeds me and gives me to drink." | Waallathee huwa yutAAimunee wayasqeeni |
026:080 | "And if I am sick, He is the One who cures me." | Wa-itha maridtu fahuwa yashfeeni |
026:081 | "And the One who will make me die and then bring me to life." | Waallathee yumeetunee thumma yuhyeeni |
026:082 | "And the One whom I hope will forgive my faults on the Day of Judgment." | Waallathee atmaAAu an yaghfira lee khatee-atee yawma alddeeni |
026:083 | "My Lord, grant me authority and join me with the good doers." | Rabbi hab lee hukman waalhiqnee bialssaliheena |
026:084 | "And give me a tongue that is true for those who will follow." | WaijAAal lee lisana sidqin fee al-akhireena |
026:085 | "And make me of the inheritors of the gardens of bliss." | WaijAAalnee min warathati jannati alnnaAAeemi |
026:086 | "And forgive my father, for he was of those misguided." | Waighfir li-abee innahu kana mina alddalleena |
026:087 | "And do not disgrace me on the Day when they are resurrected." | Wala tukhzinee yawma yubAAathoona |
026:088 | "The Day when no money or children can help." | Yawma la yanfaAAu malun wala banoona |
026:089 | "Except for he who comes to God with a pure heart." | Illa man ata Allaha biqalbin saleemin |
026:090 | And Paradise was made near for the righteous. | Waozlifati aljannatu lilmuttaqeena |
026:091 | And Hell was displayed for the wrongdoers. | Waburrizati aljaheemu lilghaweena |
026:092 | And it was said to them: "Where is what you used to worship?" | Waqeela lahum ayna ma kuntum taAAbudoona |
026:093 | "Without God, can they help you or help themselves?" | Min dooni Allahi hal yansuroonakum aw yantasiroona |
026:094 | So they were thrown in it on their faces, them and the wrongdoers. | Fakubkiboo feeha hum waalghawoona |
026:095 | As well as all the soldiers of Satan. | Wajunoodu ibleesa ajmaAAoona |
026:096 | They said, while they were disputing therein: | Qaloo wahum feeha yakhtasimoona |
026:097 | "By God, we were clearly misguided." | TaAllahi in kunna lafee dalalin mubeenin |
026:098 | "For we equated you with the Lord of the Worlds!" | Ith nusawweekum birabbi alAAalameena |
026:099 | "And none misled us except the criminals." | Wama adallana illa almujrimoona |
026:100 | "So we have none to intercede for us." | Fama lana min shafiAAeena |
026:101 | "Nor a close friend." | Wala sadeeqin hameemin |
026:102 | "If only we could have another chance, we would be among the believers." | Falaw anna lana karratan fanakoona mina almu/mineena |
026:103 | In that is a sign, but most of them are not believers. | Inna fee thalika laayatan wama kana aktharuhum mu/mineena |
026:104 | And your Lord is the Noble, the Merciful. | Wa-inna rabbaka lahuwa alAAazeezu alrraheemu |

[edit]026:105 | The people of Noah disbelieved the messengers. | Kaththabat qawmu noohin almursaleena |
026:106 | When their brother Noah said to them: "Will you not be righteous?" | Ith qala lahum akhoohum noohun ala tattaqoona |
026:107 | "I am to you a trustworthy messenger." | Innee lakum rasoolun ameenun |
026:108 | "So be aware of God and obey me." | Faittaqoo Allaha waateeAAooni |
026:109 | "And I do not ask you for a wage, for my reward is upon the Lord of the worlds." | Wama as-alukum AAalayhi min ajrin in ajriya illa AAala rabbi alAAalameena |
026:110 | "So be aware of God and obey me." | Faittaqoo Allaha waateeAAooni |
026:111 | They said: "Shall we believe to you when the lowest type of people have followed you?" | Qaloo anu/minu laka waittabaAAaka al-arthaloona |
026:112 | He said: "And what knowledge do I have of what they used to do?" | Qala wama AAilmee bima kanoo yaAAmaloona |
026:113 | "Their judgment is on my Lord, if you could know." | In hisabuhum illa AAala rabbee law tashAAuroona |
026:114 | "And I will not drive away the believers." | Wama ana bitaridi almu/mineena |
026:115 | "I am but a clear warner." | In ana illa natheerun mubeenun |
026:116 | They said: "If you do not cease, O Noah, you will be among those who are stoned." | Qaloo la-in lam tantahi ya noohu latakoonanna mina almarjoomeena |
026:117 | He said: "My Lord, my people have denied me!" | Qala rabbi inna qawmee kaththabooni |
026:118 | "So open between me and them a rift, and save me and those who are with me of the believers." | Faiftah baynee wabaynahum fathan wanajjinee waman maAAiya mina almu/mineena |
026:119 | So We saved him and those who were with him in the charged Ship. | Faanjaynahu waman maAAahu fee alfulki almashhooni |
026:120 | Then after that We drowned the rest. | Thumma aghraqna baAAdu albaqeena |
026:121 | In that is a sign, but most of them are not believers. | Inna fee thalika laayatan wama kana aktharuhum mu/mineena |
026:122 | And your Lord is the Noble, the Merciful. | Wa-inna rabbaka lahuwa alAAazeezu alrraheemu |

[edit]026:123 | 'Aad denied the messengers. | Kaththabat AAadun almursaleena |
026:124 | For their brother Hud said to them: "Will you not be righteous?" | Ith qala lahum akhoohum hoodun ala tattaqoona |
026:125 | "I am to you a clear messenger." | Innee lakum rasoolun ameenun |
026:126 | "So be aware of God and obey me." | Faittaqoo Allaha waateeAAooni |
026:127 | "And I do not ask you for a wage, for my reward is upon God the Lord of the worlds." | Wama as-alukum AAalayhi min ajrin in ajriya illa AAala rabbi alAAalameena |
026:128 | "Do you build on every high place a symbol, for the sake of vanity!" | Atabnoona bikulli reeAAin ayatan taAAbathoona |
026:129 | "And you take for yourselves strongholds, perhaps you will live forever?" | Watattakhithoona masaniAAa laAAallakum takhludoona |
026:130 | "And if you attack, you strike ruthlessly?" | Wa-itha batashtum batashtum jabbareena |
026:131 | "So be aware of God and obey me." | Faittaqoo Allaha waateeAAooni |
026:132 | "And be aware of the One who provided you with what you know." | Waittaqoo allathee amaddakum bima taAAlamoona |
026:133 | "He provided you with livestock and shelters." | Amaddakum bi-anAAamin wabaneena |
026:134 | "And gardens and springs." | Wajannatin waAAuyoonin |
026:135 | "I fear for you the retribution of a great day" | Innee akhafu AAalaykum AAathaba yawmin AAatheemin |
026:136 | They said: "It is the same whether you preach or do not preach." | Qaloo sawaon AAalayna awaAAathta am lam takun mina alwaAAitheena |
026:137 | "This is nothing but an invention by the people of old." | In hatha illa khuluqu al-awwaleena |
026:138 | "And we are not going to be punished." | Wama nahnu bimuAAaththabeena |
026:139 | So they denied him, and We destroyed them. In that is a sign, but most are not believers. | Fakaththaboohu faahlaknahum inna fee thalika laayatan wama kana aktharuhum mu/mineena |
026:140 | And your Lord is the Noble, the Merciful. | Wa-inna rabbaka lahuwa alAAazeezu alrraheemu |

[edit]026:141 | Thamud denied the messengers. | Kaththabat thamoodu almursaleena |
026:142 | For their brother Saleh said to them: "Will you not be righteous?" | Ith qala lahum akhoohum salihun ala tattaqoona |
026:143 | "I am to you a clear messenger." | Innee lakum rasoolun ameenun |
026:144 | "So be aware of God and obey me." | Faittaqoo Allaha waateeAAooni |
026:145 | "And I do not ask you for a wage, for my reward is upon God the Lord of the worlds." | Wama as-alukum AAalayhi min ajrin in ajriya illa AAala rabbi alAAalameena |
026:146 | "Will you be left secure in that which you have here?" | Atutrakoona fee ma hahuna amineena |
026:147 | "In gardens and springs." | Fee jannatin waAAuyoonin |
026:148 | "And green crops and palm trees laden with fruit." | WazurooAAin wanakhlin talAAuha hadeemun |
026:149 | "And you carve homes out of the mountains with great skill?" | Watanhitoona mina aljibali buyootan fariheena |
026:150 | "So be aware of God and obey me." | Faittaqoo Allaha waateeAAooni |
026:151 | "And do not obey the command of the carefree." | Wala tuteeAAoo amra almusrifeena |
026:152 | "The ones who corrupt in the land and are not reformers." | Allatheena yufsidoona fee al-ardi wala yuslihoona |
026:153 | They said: "You are but one of those bewitched!" | Qaloo innama anta mina almusahhareena |
026:154 | "You are but a human being like us. So bring a sign if you are of the truthful ones." | Ma anta illa basharun mithluna fa/ti bi-ayatin in kunta mina alssadiqeena |
026:155 | He said: "This is a female camel which will have to drink and you will drink on a different day." | Qala hathihi naqatun laha shirbun walakum shirbu yawmin maAAloomin |
026:156 | "And do not afflict her with harm, else the retribution of a great day will seize you." | Wala tamassooha bisoo-in faya/khuthakum AAathabu yawmin AAatheemin |
026:157 | But they slaughtered her, and they became regretful. | FaAAaqarooha faasbahoo nadimeena |
026:158 | So the retribution took them. In that is a sign, but most of them are not believers. | Faakhathahumu alAAathabu inna fee thalika laayatan wama kana aktharuhum mu/mineena |
026:159 | And your Lord is the Noble, the Merciful. | Wa-inna rabbaka lahuwa alAAazeezu alrraheemu |

[edit]026:160 | The people of Lot denied the messengers. | Kaththabat qawmu lootin almursaleena |
026:161 | For their brother Lot said to them: "Will you not be righteous?" | Ith qala lahum akhoohum lootun ala tattaqoona |
026:162 | "I am to you a trustworthy messenger." | Innee lakum rasoolun ameenun |
026:163 | "So be aware of God and obey me." | Faittaqoo Allaha waateeAAooni |
026:164 | "And I do not ask you for a wage for my reward is upon God the Lord of the worlds." | Wama as-alukum AAalayhi min ajrin in ajriya illa AAala rabbi alAAalameena |
026:165 | "Do you approach the males of the worlds?" | Ata/toona alththukrana mina alAAalameena |
026:166 | "And you leave what your Lord has created for you of mates? You are an intrusive people!" | Watatharoona ma khalaqa lakum rabbukum min azwajikum bal antum qawmun AAadoona |
026:167 | They said: "If you do not cease O Lot, you will be among those driven out." | Qaloo la-in lam tantahi ya lootu latakoonanna mina almukhrajeena |
026:168 | He said: "I am in severe opposition to your acts!" | Qala innee liAAamalikum mina alqaleena |
026:169 | "My Lord, save me and my family from what they do." | Rabbi najjinee waahlee mimma yaAAmaloona |
026:170 | So We saved him and his entire family. | Fanajjaynahu waahlahu ajmaAAeena |
026:171 | Except for an old woman who remained. | Illa AAajoozan fee alghabireena |
026:172 | Then We destroyed the others. | Thumma dammarna al-akhareena |
026:173 | And We rained upon them a rain. Miserable was the rain to those who had been warned. | Waamtarna AAalayhim mataran fasaa mataru almunthareena |
026:174 | In that is a sign, but most of them are not believers. | Inna fee thalika laayatan wama kana aktharuhum mu/mineena |
026:175 | And that your Lord is the Noble, the Merciful. | Wa-inna rabbaka lahuwa alAAazeezu alrraheemu |

[edit]026:176 | The dwellers of the Woods disbelieved the messengers. | Kaththaba as-habu al-aykati almursaleena |
026:177 | For Shu'ayb said to them: "Will you not be righteous?" | Ith qala lahum shuAAaybun ala tattaqoona |
026:178 | "I am to you a trustworthy messenger." | Innee lakum rasoolun ameenun |
026:179 | "So be aware of God and obey me." | Faittaqoo Allaha waateeAAooni |
026:180 | "And I do not ask you for a wage, for my reward is upon God the Lord of the worlds." | Wama as-alukum AAalayhi min ajrin in ajriya illa AAala rabbi alAAalameena |
026:181 | "Give full measure and do not be of those who cause losses." | Awfoo alkayla wala takoonoo mina almukhsireena |
026:182 | "And weigh with the balance that is straight." | Wazinoo bialqistasi almustaqeemi |
026:183 | "And do not defraud the people of their belongings, and do not venture into the land corrupting." | Wala tabkhasoo alnnasa ashyaahum wala taAAthaw fee al-ardi mufsideena |
026:184 | "And be aware of the One who created you and the generations of old." | Waittaqoo allathee khalaqakum waaljibillata al-awwaleena |
026:185 | They said: "You are but one of those bewitched." | Qaloo innama anta mina almusahhareena |
026:186 | "And you are nothing but a human being like us, and we think you are one of those who lie." | Wama anta illa basharun mithluna wa-in nathunnuka lamina alkathibeena |
026:187 | "So let pieces from the sky fall upon us if you are of those who are truthful!" | Faasqit AAalayna kisafan mina alssama-i in kunta mina alssadiqeena |
026:188 | He said: "My Lord is most aware of what you do." | Qala rabbee aAAlamu bima taAAmaloona |
026:189 | But they denied him, so the retribution of the day of shadow took them. It was the retribution of a terrible day. | Fakaththaboohu faakhathahum AAathabu yawmi alththullati innahu kana AAathaba yawmin AAatheemin |
026:190 | In that is a sign, but most of them are not believers. | Inna fee thalika laayatan wama kana aktharuhum mu/mineena |
026:191 | And your Lord is the Noble, the Merciful. | Wa-inna rabbaka lahuwa alAAazeezu alrraheemu |

[edit]026:192 | And this is a revelation from the Lord of the worlds. | Wa-innahu latanzeelu rabbi alAAalameena |
026:193 | It was sent down with the trusted Spirit. | Nazala bihi alrroohu al-ameenu |
026:194 | Upon your heart, so that you would be of the warners. | AAala qalbika litakoona mina almunthireena |
026:195 | In a clear Arabic tongue. | Bilisanin AAarabiyyin mubeenin |
026:196 | And it is in the Psalms of old. | Wa-innahu lafee zuburi al-awwaleena |
026:197 | Was it not a sign for them that the scholars of the Children of Israel knew it? | Awa lam yakun lahum ayatan an yaAAlamahu AAulamao banee isra-eela |
026:198 | And had We sent it down upon some of the foreigners, | Walaw nazzalnahu AAala baAAdi al-aAAjameena |
026:199 | And he related it to them, they would not have believed in it. | Faqaraahu AAalayhim ma kanoo bihi mu/mineena |
026:200 | As such, We diverted it from the hearts of the criminals. | Kathalika salaknahu fee quloobi almujrimeena |
026:201 | They do not believe in it until they see the painful retribution. | La yu/minoona bihi hatta yarawoo alAAathaba al-aleema |
026:202 | So it will come to them suddenly, while they do not perceive it. | Faya/tiyahum baghtatan wahum la yashAAuroona |
026:203 | Then they would Say: "Can we be given more time?" | Fayaqooloo hal nahnu muntharoona |
026:204 | Was it not their wish that Our punishment be hastened? | AfabiAAathabina yastaAAjiloona |
026:205 | Do you see that if We gave them luxury for years. | Afaraayta in mattaAAnahum sineena |
026:206 | Then what they were promised came to them. | Thumma jaahum ma kanoo yooAAadoona |
026:207 | All they luxury they were given will not avail them. | Ma aghna AAanhum ma kanoo yumattaAAoona |
026:208 | And We have not destroyed any town except after having warners. | Wama ahlakna min qaryatin illa laha munthiroona |
026:209 | By way of a reminder, and We were never unjust. | Thikra wama kunna thalimeena |
026:210 | And it is not the devils who have brought this down. | Wama tanazzalat bihi alshshayateenu |
026:211 | Nor would they, nor could they. | Wama yanbaghee lahum wama yastateeAAoona |
026:212 | They are blocked from the knowledge. | Innahum AAani alssamAAi lamaAAzooloona |
026:213 | So do not call upon any other god with God, else you will be with those punished. | Fala tadAAu maAAa Allahi ilahan akhara fatakoona mina almuAAaththabeena |
026:214 | And warn your closest kin. | Waanthir AAasheerataka al-aqrabeena |
026:215 | And lower your wing for any who follow you of the believers. | Waikhfid janahaka limani ittabaAAaka mina almu/mineena |
026:216 | Then if they disobey you, then Say: "I am innocent from what you do." | Fa-in AAasawka faqul innee baree-on mimma taAAmaloona |
026:217 | And put your trust in the Noble, the Merciful. | Watawakkal AAala alAAazeezi alrraheemi |
026:218 | The One who sees you when you stand. | Allathee yaraka heena taqoomu |
026:219 | And your movements amongst those who prostrate. | Wataqallubaka fee alssajideena |
026:220 | He is the Hearer, the Knowledgeable. | Innahu huwa alssameeAAu alAAaleemu |
026:221 | Shall I inform you on whom the devils descend? | Hal onabbi-okum AAala man tanazzalu alshshayateenu |
026:222 | They descend on every sinful liar. | Tanazzalu AAala kulli affakin atheemin |
026:223 | They claim to listen, but most of them are liars. | Yulqoona alssamAAa waaktharuhum kathiboona |
026:224 | And the poets, are followed by the strayers. | WaalshshuAAarao yattabiAAuhumu alghawoona |
026:225 | Do you not see that they traverse in every valley. | Alam tara annahum fee kulli wadin yaheemoona |
026:226 | And that what they say, is not what they do! | Waannahum yaqooloona ma la yafAAaloona |
026:227 | Except for those who believe, and do good works, and remember God greatly, and were victorious after they were wronged. As for those who did wrong, they will know which fate they will meet. | Illa allatheena amanoo waAAamiloo alssalihati wathakaroo Allaha katheeran waintasaroo min baAAdi ma thulimoo wasayaAAlamu allatheena thalamoo ayya munqalabin yanqaliboona |
