[Verse]

'Twas a rainy day in the month of May,
And the rain came down in the usual way,
Up in a tree, two lovebirds were,
A little 'he' and a smaller 'her'
Upon a twig there side by side,
He ask'd her if she'd be his bride;
But just what she-bird replied,
I really cannot say, For it was

[Refrain]

Raining, raining,
Two little birds of a feather
Sat there on a twig together,
And they didn't mind the weather,
Tho' 'twas Raining, raining,
Trees made a shelt'ring above;
But what's it matter if the rain comes pitter patter,
When you're with the girl you love?

[Verse]

'Neath a neighb'ring tree was a he and a she;
There the watch'd the two little birds you see;
The boy said, "Tho' it's quite absurd,
I almost envy that small he bird,
For I am sure she's named the day;
If I ask'd you, what would you say;
She answer'd, "If you ask, I may say,
"Two is company When it is
(chorus)
