She had that time upon her backA glorious gown of white,And in her hand that chrystal targeThat wrought Medusa spite.
And in the same a pillar wasErect of jasper stone,Wherein a chain of diamondsWere placed one by one;And topases mixed in the midst,Which virtuous dames did use——
