Wisteria Bloom

Fearing the wisteria of Kameido
Is about to pass,
On this rainy day, umbrella in hand,
I come alone to view it.

The water in the pond
Is so turbid that
It reflects not the waves of the wisteria
And the rain it rains.

As it rains,
No one comes to see;
In vain the wisteria
Pours out its lovely waves of bloom.
