Noah Webster's 1806 dictionary
[edit]the matter on this page comes from the beginning of Noah Webster's first 1806 dictionary, A compendious dictionary of the English language, which is available at archive.org https://archive.org/details/compendiousdictionaryoftheenglishlanguage1806/page/n1/mode/1up The PDF to download there is a photo realistic scan with a swipeable but not all that correct text overlay. The EPUB is just the very terrible OCR and no scan images. This title is already listed on wikisource on his author page Author:Noah_Webster
Webster's much larger 1828 second dictionary, An American dictionary of the English language, is not listed on his wikisource author page, but is also available at archive.org (in two volumes): Vol 1 https://archive.org/details/americandictiona01websrich/page/1/mode/1up] and Vol 2 https://archive.org/details/americandictiona02websrich/page/n7/mode/1up] 207.237.14.175 20:40, 13 June 2024 (UTC)
